In January we revealed our plans to launch Du Jour - a collection of comfortable and covetable everyday knickers. Designed to flatter the body and look great on any size, - whether you're a UK size 8 or 22.

Inspired by the early morning sunshine and long summer days, we've revved up our pace and finally we're ready to give you a peak at our first product!

The Du Jour Daily Brazilian Cut Brief is a modern, minimalist take on the often cutesy 'days of the week' knickers. This high cut 90's inspired silhouette combines soft custom designed elastic and ethical organic cotton jersey. There's still lots more to do until we launch but we are slowly getting there!

Du Jour is the embodiment of the Lingerie La Femme ethos; promoting Natural Beauty, Diversity, Body Positivity and Sensuality without ouvert sexualisation.

Based in the California, Alexandra Anissa is an independent lingerie label handcrafting dreamy intimates to order from their cosy pink studio. Known for her provocative-yet-ultra-feminine aesthetic, each piece is handmade by the designer herself. From pattern grading, cutting, sewing and packaging - all orders are done with her immaculately-polished hands. Alexandrea Anissa believes lingerie is for everybody and every body, so all the her designs are available in sizes XXS - 5X (in UK sizes this ranges from about a 6-24).

Last week the label launched their very first lingerie pattern - the Valerie High Waist Panty. This classic and super cute design is ideal for the novice lingerie sewer and I couldn't wait to test it out.

The pattern was delivered by PDF and pretty easy to construct. If you are making multiple sizes I suggest tracing the pattern rather than cutting from the original, this will save A LOT of time as printing and assembly can be tedious and time-consuming. Directions are simple and easy to follow - from cutting to completion it should take no longer than a couple of hours.

If you're a fan of comfort and retro knickers, this is the perfect pattern to introduce you into the world of lingerie construction...

STEP 8: Sew the 7mm strip on to the choker with a 1cm seam and trim off any excess elastic at the back. Bring the front end of the elastic strip up and over to the back and hand sew the elastic, keeping the O rings in place.

Congrats! You're done.

How to make matching handcuffs...

You will need:

Everything you required to make the above choker

1 Metre if thin gold chain

2 x 10mm gold lobster clasps

2 x 5mm gold jump rings

A pair of pliers

STEP 1: Make your elastic bracelets in the same way you made the choker. You will need to measure 9.5 inches of elastic for each bracelet.

STEP 2: Take a jump ring and tread it through the two ends of your chain. Then tread through a lobster clasp and close the jump ring using a pair of pliers.

STEP 3: Once you have done one end, find the middle point of the chain and thread through the jump ring and repeat the process.

STEP 4: Simply clip the clasps on to your bracelet's O rings to turn your bondage inspired bracelets into kinky handcuffs. chritmas-gift-for-her-diy-make-at-home-bondage-fashion-sm-choker-necklace-jewellery-elastic-gold-lingeie-la-femme-made-from-scratch-13

Handmade gifts make the best Christmas presents and it is often easier than you think to create something truley bespoke and luxurious.

Chokers are this season's accessory du jour and our DIY bondage chokers make the ideal seductive stocking fillers for any lingerie aficionado.

This week we explore the easiest way to create your own at home...

The super easy way to make your own bondage choker..

You will need:

2 repurposed detachable suspender straps

2 16mm gold O rings

1 small strip of elastic (7mm wide)

Embroidery Scissors

Sewing Machine

STEP 1: Gather all your components. To make this neckpiece we repurposed 2 detachable suspenders from Adina Reay's Fran Short. The great thing about this choker is that it can be easily disassembled if you want to use the suspenders for their original purpose.

STEP 2: Secure the suspender straps together using the swan hook fastenings.

STEP 3: Loop the gold rings together using the strip on 7mm elastic and secure into place with a pin.

STEP 4: Using a straight-stitch, stitch the elastic together as close as you can get to the rings and trim off excess elastic.
